i have a ringo ranger 2 meter ant the swrs are 1.2 on 5 and 15 watts but when i up the power to 50 watts they go over way over 3.8 any ideals i have tried tunning and every thing and no such luck?

Sounds like your radio may be either spurious at high power or producing harmonics at higher power. When SWR changes with power, it is almost always the radio, not the antenna.

agree sounds like the radio when the output is dirty the swr goes up because the junk is outside the frequency that the antenna is tune to.
try another radio and see what it does ....

I came across situation like this once in the past where the problems was not the radio -but the coax.
Seems the dielectric was starting to break down at higher power levels. Although I cannot see this happening too easily at only 50w it may be something to keep in mind.

k i tried a differnt radio same thing guess ill try changeing coax thanks for the help

try different jumper between the rig and the meter
and compare the readings.
