It’s rare for new business owners to implement technology that truly enables their company to grow over time. Many business leaders don’t onboard sales or marketing software until they start feeling some serious growing pains and need an immediate solution.

This wasn’t the case when Houwzer co-founders launched the real estate brokerage and mortgage company in 2015.

Together with the company’s first employee, Dave Speers, now VP of Sales & Client Experience, the 3-person team of real estate experts had the long-term vision to know what tech they needed to support the rapid growth on their roadmap. With an aggressive sales program lined up, a CRM was a critical tool to support these business development efforts. After testing everything from enterprise-level CRMs to real-estate-specific platforms, the team chose Copper for its flexibility, customizability and deep Google integration, among other factors.

No growing pains to speak of

Houwzer hasn’t looked back since. The company has experienced some serious results with Copper supporting their entire sales program, and they haven’t been held up by any technology speed bumps. In just 7 years, the company has scaled exponentially from a one-team shop in Philadelphia to a national real estate player with 14 teams in 7 states across the U.S., employing over 170 agents.

In many ways, Copper has been the difference-maker in powering this growth. Dave shares,

“I can speak firsthand to some of the other platforms that we looked at. I know for a fact that we wouldn’t have been able to customize the CRM to our processes, especially at the speed that we evolved… Specifically Salesforce, Follow-up Boss, any of the real-estate specific CRMs just never would have held up over time.”

Some of the Copper features they’ve leveraged the most include:

  • Flexible integrations with other tools in their stack
  • Powerful workflow automation
  • A mobile app for activity tracking on the go

And with a recent funding round and product release, Dave and the team are just getting started. Catch their story and results in the full case study here.
