We had a hunch when we launched our State of reporting survey this year. We couldn’t quite put our finger on it, but we thought something was off about how small and midsize businesses (SMBs) engaged with reporting on the health of their business. We knew we had to dig deeper to see what was really going on.

We’d heard from prospects how important reporting within their CRM was, but we also sensed discomfort. And it was unclear exactly where their pain was stemming from.

Here’s what we discovered: Most SMBs cobble together their reporting using multiple tools, are frustrated with their CRM’s lack of reporting power—and frankly don’t always know what to track or whether they can trust their data.
