We had a hunch when we launched our State of reporting survey this year. We couldn’t quite put our finger on it, but we thought something was off about how small and midsize businesses (SMBs) engaged with reporting on the health of their business. We knew we had to dig deeper to see what was really going on.

We’d heard from prospects how important reporting within their CRM was, but we also sensed discomfort. And it was unclear exactly where their pain was stemming from.

Here’s what we discovered: Most SMBs cobble together their reporting using multiple tools, are frustrated with their CRM’s lack of reporting power—and frankly don’t always know what to track or whether they can trust their data. The short story is, SMBs are struggling with reporting on business health—but are they searching for a “holy grail?”

Take a look at what we found out about SMBs’ experiences with CRM and reporting:

Our takeaway? It’s high time for SMBs to push the refresh button on their relationship with CRM. After all, not every CRM is created equal. Which is why, at Copper, we’ve worked hard to develop an easy-to-use CRM that makes data reporting simple to help businesses thrive.

How does your organization’s reporting on business health stack up?
